Launching the Follow the Heart Tour!

It's been raining nearly every day in the Utah high desert these past weeks! It's clearly been a washing in my mind of the familiar and comfortable to make way for something unexpected, fresh and clearly undefined: the Follow the Heart Tour.

I'm joined on this tour by a Mighty Companion, Helena, whose sparkly brightness helps keep the mind in the Now moment. She is one who has walked this path before me, doing many tours around the world with David and talented musicians. Traveling with Helena is surely washing away any remaining boundaries in my mind of places I can and cannot go and things I can and cannot do.

The call to tour actually began several weeks ago in the Strawberry Canyon in Utah. My cell phone kept calling Helena on its own. On one occasion, my phone called Helena when I was standing right next to her. “You're calling me again,” she laughed. Two computer crashes, lost files and faulty software were obvious signs to push back from editing movies to allow something new to come in.

Finally, the green light. “Call Helena. Pack up everything. Go to Idaho. Now!” Clear as a bell instructions. No time to explain, justify or allow the doubt thoughts to come in. Helena had already accepted my invitation for her to join me on a trip to Idaho a week prior, but I'd wavered. I knew the trip signaled a shift in life as I knew it and I was scared.

As each resistance was exposed, the way became clearer and clearer. This tour was for us! To shine our light and extend in only the way that Spirit knows is truly helpful. To trust that we would be provided for. To share any doubts or fears straight away so they could dissolve and keep us in the swoosh. To fully experience the Course's promise that miracles are natural and are actually our inheritance.

The trip to Idaho felt more like a launch. The reflections of love and support from family and friends that I'm following my heart. The reassurance that those I “left behind” nearly three years ago to follow this path are being cared for by Spirit and exactly where they need to be. Signs and symbols everywhere that when we heal we are not healed alone. Even a celebratory powwow of Native singing and dancing. Everywhere Spirit was saying, “Go for it.”

Thank God that every step on this path is heavily reinforced. The celebratory launch was needed to get me through my first big hurdle on the road; the thought I wouldn't have a place to stay when we arrived in Salt Lake. It doesn't seem like such a big deal, especially since we have a tent as back up, but in my mind it was huge. Everything in my life to this point had been to insure that I always had a place to lay my head at night. The friend who invited us to stay at her house wasn't there when we arrived and her roommate didn't seem to have a clue that we were going to stay over. I freaked. Helena asked if I needed to share what was coming up in my mind but it wasn't until later that I could even look at the thoughts. It was incredibly healing for me to share my fears that and I feel the softening in my mind around the thought of being “homeless” and dropped on my head by Spirit.

The next day we watched an incredible Ted Talks video by musician Amanda Palmer on, “The Art of Asking” (http://www.ted.com/talks/amanda_palmer_the_art_of_asking) who shared that she and her band had couch surfed on literally thousands of couches over the the years and about the gratitude people had about being asked and being able to help out. Amanda's sharing is a beautiful reminder that it's all about connecting with one another and how we all long for that.

The days since that first nite “on the road” have been filled with miracle joinings at coffee shops around Salt Lake City, late nite discussions about what's up in the mind, communications about a impromptu movie gathering and light, tickly ponderings about where we'll end up next. I feel the trust in Spirit growing every day as I'm shown moment by moment that everything is being perfectly orchestrated by the one in charge. I can't wait to see what's next!
